Empowering students, teachers, and families for a brighter future.

Dr. Caroline Ford is a dedicated educator, administrator, and community advocate with over two decades of experience in public education. Her leadership in curriculum development, grant management, community partnerships, and educator professional development has strengthened schools and empowered educators. She holds a Doctor of Education in Educational Practice & Innovation (STEM) from the University of South Carolina and is a licensed K–12 teacher and principal in South Carolina—credentials that reflect both her deep expertise and steadfast commitment to the field.

As a proud District Five parent and community member, Caroline's commitment to public education is both professional and deeply personal. Her son is a rising sophomore at UNC Asheville, and her daughter is a rising third grader at Berry Shoals Elementary. This personal connection gives her a unique understanding of the hopes, challenges, and expectations families have for their children's education. It's this perspective that fuels her belief that every student deserves access to high-quality learning, safe and supportive schools, and high-quality educators to help them thrive.

Caroline's passion for supporting teachers, engaging families, and making data-informed decisions drives her work and inspires confidence in her leadership. Her candidacy for the Spartanburg School District Five School Board is rooted in a vision of excellence, accountability, and opportunity—for every student, every family, and every school in our community.

"I’m running for school board to ensure every child in District Five graduates ready for college, a career, or military service—and with the confidence and skills to thrive. As an experienced educator and a parent in this district, I know firsthand the importance of strong partnerships between schools, families, and communities. I will continue to support our growing student population through responsible facilities planning, advocate for high-quality educators who can raise achievement, and serve as a powerful voice for our district at the state and national levels. Together, we can give every student the tools they need to succeed."

Educational Priorities

  • Attract, Support, and Retain High-Quality Educators to Drive Student Achievement

Recruiting and retaining passionate, high-performing educators is critical to our mission. I support initiatives that uplift teachers—through professional development, collaboration, and targeted literacy efforts—to ensure all students experience academic growth and achievement.

  • Champion College, Career, and Military Readiness for Every Student

I am deeply committed to ensuring that every student graduates prepared for success—whether in higher education, the workforce, or military service. My daily work is grounded in expanding real-world opportunities and pathways that align with student goals and future demands.

  • Foster Strong Parent and Community Partnerships

I believe deeply in the power of collaboration. By building authentic relationships with families and community stakeholders, we can empower parents to be active partners in education and create a shared sense of purpose that enriches the entire District Five community.

  • Support Strategic Facilities Planning to Meet Growing Enrollment Needs

With our district’s rapid growth, I advocate for thoughtful, forward-thinking facilities planning that ensures every student has access to safe, modern, and inspiring learning environments. Smart investments in infrastructure are essential to sustaining excellence as we grow.

“I am committed to being a strong voice for our students, teachers, and families—working to ensure they have the resources, funding, and support needed for success. Whether engaging with state legislators or national education networks, I will represent District Five with purpose and pride.”
